FINANCIAL MARKETS : COMMODITIES : Coffee, Cocoa Rise on Fears of Unrest
Prices of coffee and cocoa futures rose sharply on New York’s Coffee, Sugar & Cocoa Exchange, fueled by fears that unrest in the Ivory Coast could disrupt shipments of Ivorian cocoa and coffee, the country’s two main exports.
On other commodity markets, copper futures also rose sharply; precious metals retreated energy futures advanced; livestock and meat futures were mixed, and grains and soybeans were mixed.
