The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority voted Tuesday to raise parking fees 25% at its long-term and remote lots to raise money for the airport’s planned new terminal.
Unaffected by the unanimous vote of Airport Authority members is the rate at the airport’s short-term lot near the present terminal.
Parking at the closer lot is by the hour and costs up to $18 a day, $3 more than the daily maximum at nearby lots at Los Angeles International Airport.
The daily fee at the Burbank facility’s long-term lot, which is within walking distance of the terminal, was raised $2, to $10.
The rate at the airport’s two remote lots, which are serviced by shuttle buses, was raised to $5, up from $4 at present.
Airport spokesman Victor Gill said the new fees are expected to raise about $700,000 a year in added revenue. Parking fees at present raise $6.2 million annually.
