BOYS’ SOCCER ROUNDUP : Hart-Buena Match Called After 2-2 Tie

After playing through four overtime periods and two sets of five-shot, penalty-kick shoot-outs, Hart and Buena highs were forced to call their Southern Section 3-A Division first-round boys’ soccer playoff match at Hart on Thursday because of darkness with the score tied, 2-2.
The score was tied, 1-1, after regulation. Buena scored in the first 10-minute extra period, and Hart scored in the second 10-minute overtime.
They followed with two scoreless 10-minute sudden-death periods, then two sets of five penalty kicks. After 3 hours 15 minutes, the match was postponed.
In another match:
San Marcos 1, Burbank 0--San Marcos scored early in the second half to knock visiting Burbank (12-5-6) out of the Southern Section 3-A playoffs.
