Teacher for Deaf Shot in School Parking Lot
A sign-language teacher at a public school for handicapped children was shot on the school parking lot Thursday while hundreds of students attended class inside, the school’s principal said.
Henry Low, 31, a special education assistant with the Marlton School in the Crenshaw District, was shot by one of three people standing just outside a parking lot gate, said Principal Clarence J. Clark, Jr.
Low was in fair condition at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with a wound in the buttocks, said hospital spokesman Ron Wise.
There were no arrests and no students were hurt in the incident, said Police Sgt. J.J. Reese.
