Canadians Gain 1-1 Tie With U.S. in Field Hockey
The United States women’s national field hockey team dominated Canada for most of the 70 minutes but could get only a 1-1 tie Wednesday night in the USA Trophy Tournament at East Los Angeles College.
Yolanda Hightower scored for the United States seven minutes into the second half, but the Canadians tied the score on a goal by Rochelle Low with two minutes remaining.
Goaltender Donna Lee made six saves for the United States.
In another game, Australia and the Netherlands played to a 2-2 tie.
Canada plays Australia tonight at 6, with the United States going against the Netherlands at 8.
