COMMUNITY COLLEGE BASEBALL ROUNDUP : Rancho Santiago Slams Past MiraCosta, 20-0

Jeremy Sherman hit a grand slam during a nine-run second inning to help Rancho Santiago College defeat MiraCosta, 20-0, in a nonconference baseball game Tuesday at Rancho Santiago.
Rancho Santiago had 22 hits, with seven players getting at least two hits. Sherman and Greg Martineau, who hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning, each had four RBIs for the Dons (2-0). Five Rancho Santiago pitchers combined in a two-hitter.
In other nonconference baseball:
Fullerton 22, San Diego Mesa 4--Host Fullerton (4-0) scored five runs in the first inning and seven in the seventh. Willy Speakman went three for three with three runs batted in, Mike Oziminski went two for three with a four RBIs and three-run home run and Tom Wilson hit a two-run home run for Fullerton.
Saddleback 15, Cal Poly Pomona JV 6--Jason Kirrer went four for four with two RBIs and Jason Thompson went three for four with three RBIs to lead host Saddleback (2-1).
L.A. Harbor 10, Golden West 7--Host L.A. Harbor scored eight runs in the second inning to take a 10-1 lead. Golden West then rallied with two runs in the fourth, one in the sixth and three in the ninth.
