A 32-year-old man died in a house fire early Friday while sleeping in a small, detached bedroom, the San Diego Fire Department reported.
Firefighters found Kim May, 32, dead in a corner of the bedroom, which had once been a detached single-car garage. A bed, a laundry hamper and a space heater were in room at 2827 Lincoln Ave.
At 2:49 a.m., Jerry May, the victim’s brother, discovered the fire when he heard screams for help, authorities said.
The fire was caused by the space heater, authorities said.
