MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Sandra Harris, mother of West Virginia quarterback Major Harris, says she is puzzled by a report by CBS broadcaster Brent Musburger that said her son has decided to turn pro and forgo his final year of eligibility.
“Major hasn’t made any decision yet as far as I know,” the quarterback’s mother said. “I don’t think he’s hired an agent or done any of the things they say he’s done.”
Musburger said Thursday during a national radio broadcast that Harris has decided to take part in the upcoming National Football League draft. The CBS commentator also said today would be Harris’ final day at West Virginia.
Harris does not have a telephone and could not be immediately located for comment. But Sandra Harris and Shelly Poe, West Virginia’s director of sports information, said Harris is registered and attending classes this semester.
