Jazz’s Malone Is Selected to Be All-Star Reserve
Karl Malone of the Utah Jazz, who threatened to skip the NBA All-Star game after fans left him off the starting team, was selected as a Western Conference reserve Tuesday along with San Antonio Spur rookie David Robinson.
Also added to the Western squad were Tom Chambers and Kevin Johnson of the Phoenix Suns, Clyde Drexler of the Portland Trail Blazers, Fat Lever of the Denver Nuggets and Chris Mullin of the Golden State Warriors.

The West starters are guards Magic Johnson of the Lakers and John Stockton of the Utah Jazz, center Akeem Olajuwon of the Houston Rockets and forwards Green and James Worthy of the Lakers.
Starting for the East will be guards Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls and Isiah Thomas of the Detroit Pistons, center Patrick Ewing of the New York Knicks and forwards Larry Bird of Boston and Charles Barkley of the Philadelphia 76ers.
