Housing Sales, Prices Fall in Simi, Moorpark
Sales and prices of single-family houses in the Simi Valley-Moorpark area both fell in December compared with the previous month, the Simi Valley-Moorpark Board of Realtors said.
Single-family house sales dropped 26%, to 94 units from 127 in November, and they were down 47% from 177 sales a year earlier, the board said. The average resale price slipped 3% last month, to $228,475 from $235,032 the previous month, but was up 1% from $225,498 a year ago.
Sales of condominiums, meanwhile, tumbled 48% in December, to 25 from 48 in November, and were down 56% from 57 sales a year ago. The average condominium resale price fell 2% last month, to $146,000 from $149,033 the previous month, but remained 14% ahead of the $128,315 average price of a year earlier, the board said.
