Lumber Production in West Declines 3%

PORTLAND, Ore. — Lumber production in 12 Western states fell about 3% in 1989, the Western Wood Products Assn. reported.
A preliminary estimate showed that sawmills produced about 20.8 billion board feet of lumber, compared to 21.4 billion in 1988.
