New Feeder Airline to Begin Service: Israel’s El Al Airlines said passengers traveling to Tel Aviv from Los Angeles will be served starting Jan. 22 by a newly established carrier, North American Airlines, on the Los Angeles-to-New York leg of the journey. According to an agreement between the two carriers, North American will operate two flights a week in each direction at first, with a third beginning in June. When North American begins service, El Al will stop flying its own airliners to Los Angeles. North American, which is owned by Dan McKinnon, the last chairman of the now-defunct Civil Aeronautics Board, will have El Al security, kosher catering and a Hebrew-speaking flight attendant.
