A federal appeals court in San Francisco refused to reinstate the PGA Tour’s ban on square-grooved golf clubs.
The U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals denied the PGA Tour’s emergency request to block enforcement of a preliminary injunction issued last week by U.S. District Judge Paul Rosenblatt in Phoenix. The PGA Tour seeks to ban clubs that have U-shaped grooves on the face, rather than the more traditional V-grooves.
