Nobel-Prize Winning Author Sued Over Movie: Gabriel Garcia Marquez was sued in U.S. District Court Monday by a movie producer who said Marquez violated an agreement to make a film based on his best-selling novel, “Love in the Time of Cholera.†The suit by producer Richard Roth charges that Marquez and his literary agent in Spain interfered with Roth’s contract to make the movie by demanding that a Latin American director handle the project. This insistence has kept Roth from being able to secure financing to make the film, the suit said. Marquez, who lives in Mexico, could not be reached for comment.
