Franklin Faces Garfield in Bid for City Title

Franklin High will attempt to win its third consecutive City Section football title when the Panthers meet Garfield in the Northern Conference championship game Friday night at 8 at East Los Angeles College.
Franklin (11-1) is led by senior quarterback Santiago Alvarez, who has passed for 3,706 yards and 49 touchdowns--both state single-season records--and senior wide receiver Lamar Lovett, who has 88 receptions for 1,189 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Garfield (10-1-1) is led by running back Hilario Espinosa, who has gained more than 2,000 yards.
