NAMES IN THE NEWS : Elizabeth Morgan Weds Judge
WASHINGTON — Dr. Elizabeth Morgan, who spent 25 months in jail for refusing to allow her daughter to visit the child’s father, was married over the weekend to a federal appeals court judge.
Morgan married Paul R. Michel, a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, at St. Alban’s Church on the grounds of the Washington National Cathedral on Saturday, one of her attorneys, Adrian Roe, said today.
Morgan was jailed in August, 1987, for civil contempt of court for refusing to produce her daughter, Hilary, now 7, for an unsupervised visit with her former husband, Dr. Eric Foretich, a northern Virginia oral surgeon.
Morgan, a plastic surgeon, has contended that Foretich sexually abused the child--an allegation he repeatedly has denied. Neither Morgan’s parents nor Hilary were at the wedding. Morgan’s parents have not been seen since the child disappeared.
