Broken Fingers Take Wieche Out of Slalom

WATERVILLE VALLEY, N.H. — Kyle Wieche, the top giant slalom racer on the U.S. ski team, broke two fingers on his left hand today and will be out for at least one month.
Wieche, 22, of Farmington, Conn., fell during pre-race training for today’s World Cup giant slalom at Waterville. He is expected to miss at least three more races.
