Bengals head Coach Sam Wyche said he believes the National Football League will take action if Cleveland fans begin pelting the field with debris during this weekend’s showdown between the Browns and Bengals.

Wyche also said Wednesday that Browns owner Art Modell is not aggressive enough in putting a stop to the actions of fans in the so-called Dawg Pound, a name given to stands at one end of the stadium.

On Oct. 1, officials moved the Denver offense to the other end of the field with 12:31 left in the game and the Broncos on the Cleveland 4-yard line. The move came after fans in the Dawg Pound threw eggs, batteries, rocks and dog bones onto the field.

If it happens again Sunday, “the National Football League is ready,†Wyche said. “There are things that are going to happen if it happens again, and that would include up to and including getting rid of the Dawg Pound. The National Football League is not going to put up with it.â€
