WORLD : U.S. Vetoes U.N. Vote on Israel

UNITED NATIONS — The United States vetoed a Security Council resolution today strongly deploring Israeli actions in the occupied territories and demanding the return of property confiscated from a village where Palestinians staged a tax strike.
The Council’s 14 other members all voted for the draft.
