“I’ve had this recipe for 40 years,” Mary Fox writes. “These wholesome cookies are good for snacks, with drinks, and cayenne pepper gives them a special tang.”
RICE CRISPIES COOKIES
2 cups rice crispies
1 cup butter or margarine, melted
2 cups flour
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
3/4 teaspoon salt
In large bowl combine rice crispies, butter, flour, cayenne pepper, cheese and salt. Mix well. Roll into 1-inch balls and place on baking sheet. Flatten with fork. Bake at 350 degrees 15 to 20 minutes. Makes 3 to 3 1/2 dozen.
