Record Cocaine Seizure in Sylmar

To quote Arsenio Hall, “Things that make you think and say, hmmmm”!
After the “world’s largest drug bust,” the law enforcement kudos (DEA, FBI, LAPD, SWAT sheriff’s deputies) and the media hype, it seems that the police left the warehouse open and unguarded (Part I, Oct. 1)!
There on TV were seemingly middle-class white people looting in plain sight of news video cameras. Hmmmm?
The comment of a police officer arriving after the fact was, “These people believed the building was abandoned. We went through the neighborhood and recovered a lot of the merchandise.”
No arrests! Yet when looting occurred on St. Thomas and St. Croix, the National Guard was sent before food was; the cause of looting, lack of food.
When looting occurred during the Watts Riot, scores of blacks were shot (in the back) by police.
My point is the duplicity in law enforcement when it comes to race. Those captured on film looting should’ve been taken in and booked, regardless of whether they returned the items or not. Bottom line, they were white!
