Daniel P. Kearney, a Boston mortgage finance specialist, was named president and chief executive of the Resolution Trust Corp. Oversight Board, Treasury Secretary Nicholas F. Brady announced Tuesday.
The board is the Cabinet-level, policy-making body created by Congress to manage the cleanup of the nation’s insolvent savings and loan institutions. Brady is the board’s chairman.
Kearney succeeds Deputy Treasury Secretary John E. Robson, who has been serving as acting president since the board was established Aug. 9.
Kearney is a principal at Aldrich, Eastman & Waltch Inc., a Boston pension fund adviser. Before joining AEW last year, he was a managing director at the Salomon Bros. Inc. investment firm, in charge of its real estate financing department and one of the founders of its mortgage securities department.
