Dominguez Hills Women’s Soccer Team Wins, 3-0
Lynor Johnson, Deonna Collins and Dena Telfair scored second-half goals Thursday afternoon to lead fourth-ranked Cal State Dominguez Hills past UC Davis, 3-0, in a women’s soccer match in Carson.
Collins added two assists as the Lady Toros brought their record to 4-0.
Playing on its lower campus field for the first time this season, Dominguez Hills looked sluggish in the scoreless first half, although it dominated UC Davis (1-2-1) with a 15-3 shot advantage.
Johnson’s goal, a header, came about nine minutes into the second half off a crossing pass from Collins. Collins scored 11 minutes later on a break-away that was started by passes from Jeanine Charroux and Johnson. Telfair added the final score off a pass from Collins with 13 minutes left in the game.
Dominguez Hills plays host to sixth-ranked Sonoma State this afternoon at 2:30 on the Toros’ lower field, while UC Santa Barbara and UC Irvine meet on the upper campus field, also at 2:30.
