SOUTHLAND : 57 Seized in Prostitution Roundup

Fifty-seven people were arrested on busy Hollywood-area streets in two separate overnight vice sweeps involving undercover police posing as prostitutes, authorities said today.
In Hollywood, 14 men and 11 women were arrested on suspicion of prostitution during a nine-hour crackdown on Sunset and Santa Monica boulevards, Sgt. Steve Taylor said.
Police officers posing as prostitutes attracted 27 additional suspects who tried to solicit them for sex acts for pay, Taylor said. Sheriff’s deputies in West Hollywood arrested five more male suspects.
