Irvine : UCI Research Complex OKd by Regents Panel
UC Irvine’s long-range plan, which includes a research park and retail and housing development, was unanimously approved Thursday by the grounds and buildings committee of the University of California Board of Regents.
The plan, which was presented to the university and the Irvine community in May, is expected to win approval from the full board of regents today at UCLA.
The research park, which is expected to be a magnet for biomedical firms and other high-technology companies that would work cooperatively with UCI researchers, is considered the most innovative portion of the plan.
