Maxicare Patients Won’t Be Billed: Maxicare Health Plans said the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Santa Ana has issued a preliminary injunction preventing health-care providers from billing patients for bills that the Los Angeles-based health-maintenance organization owes. Maxicare filed for protection from creditors under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code in March, suspending payments to providers for bills incurred before the filing.
