An unidentified man was killed in Santa Ana on Thursday night in a drive-by shooting that might have been gang-related, police said.
Witnesses in the 2400 block of West Elder Avenue told police that they heard a flurry of shots about 8:50 p.m. and found the victim sprawled on the sidewalk.
Santa Ana Police Lt. Earl Porter said witnesses could provide no description of the vehicle, and there was no known motive for the shooting.
Porter said that at least six shots were fired but that it has not been determined how many bullets struck the victim, who was believed to be in his 20s.
