Former Rep. Robert E. Badham (R-Newport Beach) was appointed to the state Board of Accountancy on Thursday by Gov. George Deukmejian.
Badham, 60, who represented the 40th Congressional District, retired in January to open a firm that specializes in governmental lobbying. He was a member of Congress for 12 years after serving 13 years in the state Assembly.
Badham was appointed to the accountancy board to replace Margarita F. Marshall-Hannen of Mill Valley, who resigned. Badham’s term will expire Nov. 26, 1992.
Members of the board are paid $100 per day, plus expenses. The position does not require Senate confirmation. Badham, who is not an accountant, was a businessman before serving in the Congress.
