Police Seek Owner of Truck Hit by Train
Authorities are searching for the owner of an empty pickup truck that was destroyed by a southbound Southern Pacific train in Newhall.
There were no injuries and only minor damage to the train and tracks, said Lt. Marvin Dixon of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The accident occurred between 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. Sunday.
Dixon said deputies were investigating how the truck got on the tracks, near Market Street and parallel to Railroad Avenue in downtown Newhall.
