French-Japanese Firm to Test Computer Chips
NEW YORK — Schlumberger Ltd. of France and Japan’s Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp. have announced the formation of a company, Verisys, to develop systems for testing the performance of computer chips.
The systems will test chips that are custom-made for certain jobs, known as application-specific integrated circuits. Verisys will be based in Japan and will include managerial and technical people from both parents.
Schlumberger will ensure the distribution and maintenance of Verisys products, the companies said.
