Jaworski’s Scoring Pass Gives Chiefs Win Over Bears
CHICAGO — Ron Jaworski’s 19-yard touchdown pass to Robb Thomas with 4:03 left Sunday night gave the Kansas City Chiefs to a 22-17 exhibition victory over the Chicago Bears.
Jaworski hit six straight passes for 69 yards in the 72-yard drive.
The Chiefs (1-2) added a safety with 59 seconds left when Chicago quarterback Jim Harbaugh was forced out of the end zone.
Kevin Butler’s 54-yard field goal and a one-yard scoring run by Brad Muster gave the Bears a 10-0 lead.
Kansas City got even on Mark Porter’s 36-yard field goal and Chris Martin’s 50-yard touchdown run with a fumble.
The Bears took a 17-13 halftime lead on Mike Tomczak’s 24-yard scoring pass to Muster.
