A hearing on two misdemeanor charges of assault in Richmond, Va., against Columbus Clippers’ outfielder Deion Sanders was continued until Aug. 17.
Sanders, the fifth player picked in this year’s National Football League draft, was arrested Sunday night after an alleged altercation after the Clippers’ International League game against the Richmond Braves.
The two-time All-American cornerback from Florida State, drafted by the Atlanta Falcons, is accused of assaulting two fans who allegedly harassed him during the game, which Columbus lost, 16-4.
