Hawaii Hotels Offer Wheel Deals

Many hotels in Hawaii are again offering guests free rental cars for the same number of nights they are booked in hotels at regular rates.

Colony Hotels & Resorts offers a “Paradise on Wheels” condo/car program that provides guests with a free Dollar Rent A Car at 16 properties on Maui, Kauai, Oahu, Hawaii and Molokai until Dec. 22.

Hawaiian Pacific Resorts is offering an Avis car at two hotels in Waikiki, and one each on Maui and the Big Island of Hawaii until Dec. 20.

Wardair Hotels Hawaii has a “Free Wheeling Special” that provides a Budget car at the Kauai Beachboy and Waikiki Banyan condominium hotel until Dec. 19.

Outrigger Hotels has expanded its “Waikiki Free Ride” program to cover 19 hotels in Waikiki and the Hotel King Kamehameha on the Kona Coast of the Big Island.

The new Outrigger properties in Waikiki offering free Dollar rental cars are the Edgewater, Royal Islander, Coral Seas, Reef Lanais, Waikiki Surf, Waikiki Surf East and Waikiki Surf West. The program runs until Dec. 18.

Until Dec. 22 Aston Hotels & Resorts is offering a Budget car at 28 hotels, including condominium suite resorts.

Rental cars may also be offered to guests staying in specific rooms.

For example, until Dec. 15 Village Resorts will offer guests booking an ocean-view or ocean-front room for at least three nights a complimentary Avis car for the length of stay at the Islander on the Beach Hotel at Coconut Plantation on Kauai.

Generally, the cars are automatic compacts and sub-compacts, although there are variations that can depend on the type of room booked. Often the cars are offered with unlimited mileage.

Budget Rent A Car offers its own discount coupon booklets with car rentals in Hawaii, with different booklets for each of the five major islands.

Discounts cover coupons for admissions to sightseeing attractions, restaurants and assorted products at some stores.

The largest number of coupons are in the booklet offered on Oahu. Some Oahu coupon examples are the Polynesian Cultural Center, Aikane Catamaran Dinner Cruise, Sea Life Park and Waimea Falls Park.

Discount booklets are offered for any type of car rented and for any length of time.
