Vasconcellos’ proposed ban on auto air conditioners is another example of a politician going off half-cocked.

By not using his auto air conditioner he is causing the seals to dry and releasing Freon into the atmosphere at a much quicker rate than would occur if he used it. By opening his windows while driving, he destroys the aerodynamics of the automobile, using more fuel, contributing to the depletion of a valuable resource and adding to pollution.
