MCI, Visa in Venture: Visa U.S.A and MCI Communications Corp. announced that beginning Oct. 1 Visa card account numbers also will serve as MCI long-distance calling numbers. Holders of Visa cards will be able to call from any phone in the United States to nearly anywhere in the world, with monthly charges billed as one line on their Visa accounts. MCI will provide a separate, itemized billing. Tim Price, MCI’s vice president for sales, said the service will be phased in over the next 18 months and will be available automatically to any Visa cardholder by the end of 1990.
