Look for more superheroes--and a heroine--in the wake of boffo “Batman.”

“Plastic Man,” a fantasy figure with the ability to stretch his body into any position, is being developed by “Batman” producers Peter Guber and Jon Peters. The possible star: Pee-wee Herman. Guber-Peters are also at work on The Flash.

Universal Pictures is considering a live-action production of “The Green Hornet.” The crime-fighter, originally created for radio in 1936, is also going to “star” in a new series of comics.

According to Stan Westin, chairman of Leisure Concepts Inc., LCI and Hanna-Barbera have licensed the rights to the character from George Trendle Jr., son of Hornet creator George Trendle--and “a deal at Universal is pending.”

Like Batman, the Hornet lacks superpowers but has crime-fighting gizmos, including a gas-gun that knocks out foes. The Hornet--who strikes at night--also has a special car (the Black Beauty) and an Asian sidekick named Kato, who will be a she in the new Green Hornet comic book series that debuts in August from the Chicago-based NOW Comics.

Headed for syndication next year: another “Wonder Woman” series. (Recall Lynda Carter as the superheroine of the series that ran from 1977-79.) The series is for Warner Bros. TV.
