2nd Amendment

It’s so fantastic to see the people rushing to defend the freedoms our Constitution has given us. I even agreed with Lee Iacocca and Conrad (Op-Ed Page, June 29) for maybe the first time in my life.
Conrad’s cartoon of President Bush burning the Bill of Rights was great.
But now I want to know where are all these flag-waving, Bill-of-Rights worshiping, red-blooded Americans who would lay down their very lives for the freedom to even disrespect our nation’s symbol when the issue is the Second Amendment?
Every right we have as citizens is worthless if we are unarmed. Take a real long look at the young man standing in front of the tank in Tian An Men Square. He is unarmed.
I ask the news media, state Sen. David Roberti, Assemblyman Mike Roos and President Bush why are we trying to burn our very freedom?
Our Second Amendment rights were not meant for the military or for sporting uses.
Without the Second Amendment, you’ll not have to worry about whether you can or can’t burn the flag.
