LOCAL : Zsa Zsa Charged With Battery
Zsa Zsa Gabor was charged today with three misdemeanors, including battery for allegedly slapping a motorcycle officer who stopped her Rolls Royce on La Cienega Boulevard June 14 for having expired license tags.
The Hungarian-born actress was scheduled to be arraigned July 12 on one count each of battery on a police officer, disobeying a police officer and having an expired driver’s license.
Gabor was also charged with two infractions: having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle and having an expired vehicle registration. If convicted of the battery charge, the actress could be sentenced to a year in county jail and fined $2,000. The other misdemeanor charges carry maximum six-month jail terms and $1,000 fines.
The infractions are punishable by $100 fines.
