Escondido
A domestic dispute ended violently Wednesday night when an Escondido man shot his wife, and then held off police before surrendering.
George Allan Yff, 49, of North Escondido Road shot his wife at that residence at 7:15 p.m., then held police at bay until 8:24 p.m. at another location, Escondido police said.
The victim, Linda Porter Yff, 44, was shot once in the left shoulder, police said. She was in good condition Thursday at Palomar Memorial Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.
