I have found myself entangled in an eternal race to keep and stay hip at whatever the cost. So I turned to ABC for the “International Rock Awards.” I thought it was actually well done and tasteful until, before a commercial break, the pseudo-sultry voice of the announcer said, “Stay tuned for more amazing entertainment for your tiny brains. “

At first I thought I was finally coming to a breakdown. Did she actually make a comment regarding the size of my decision-making capability? Or is this what it takes for their audience not to lapse into a coma during breaks? I know one thing, though. If the second “International Rock Awards” climbs out of its pit of slime, I will be elsewhere. Anywhere except in front of the tube.
