3 White Zimbabweans Get 40-Year Sentences

HARARE, Zimbabwe — Three white Zimbabweans were each jailed for 40 years Friday for illegally possessing arms and bombing buildings used by the exiled African National Congress in Harare.
Kevin Woods, 36, Barry Bawden, 31, and Michael Smith, 35, were found guilty Monday of storing arms brought in from South Africa and helping South African agents to carry out the attacks in 1986.
All three denied the charges, which carry a maximum penalty of death.
