Com Systems Reports $801,000 Gain in Quarter

Com Systems, a long-distance telephone company serving Western states, said its earnings in the first quarter that ended March 31 rose 55% to $801,000. Sales increased 56% to $19.6 million.
The Van Nuys company said its results are improving in part because of acceptance of its 800 number, international calling, calling card and voice messaging services.
