Lombardi’s 8 RBIs Pace Tidewater
Phil Lombardi of Granada Hills drove in eight runs Saturday night as the Tidewater Tides defeated the Toledo Mud Hens, 10-3, in an International League baseball game in Toledo, Ohio.
Lombardi, a graduate of Kennedy High, had a two-run double in the first, a three-run double in the second, a two-run double in the third and a run-scoring single in the fifth. Tidewater is the triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets.
Lombardi, a first baseman, came within one RBI of tying the single-game league record, last achieved in 1963.
