Commercial Scene : Hotel Owner Leases Retail Garage Space

James Watkins has signed a 12-year, $2-million lease for 8,504 square feet of ground-floor retail space and 20,000 square feet of underground parking space at 525 E St. in downtown San Diego.
Watkins, owner of the Horton Park Plaza Hotel across the street, will continue renting out the retail space and will use the parking space for hotel visitors. Walsh & Chacon represented Watkins and Business Real Estate represented the lessor, Pacific Southwest Realty.
