SAN DIEGO COUNTY - News from May 11, 1989

* Pancretec has completed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Abbott Laboratories for $54 million, or $15 in cash a share, the companies said Wednesday. Shareholders of Pancretec, a San Diego-based manufacturer of infusion pumps for the ambulatory health-care market, will vote on the previously announced deal June 27.

Pancretec and Abbott signed a letter of intent to complete the deal March 16. Pancretec’s board has unanimously approved the agreement.
