High-Energy Dispute

Humans are too stupid to manage technology. (Yet Rifkin et al., being humans, are smart enough to manage us ?)

Cold fusion doesn’t solve garbage dumps, overcrowded cities or halitosis. (If it did, Pons and Fleischmann wouldn’t be physicists; they’d be God.)

It produces deadly neutrons and tritium. (Actually, it doesn’t, but why let facts get in the way of ecology?)

It’ll make people so wealthy that they’ll get more overcrowded. (Poverty will keep population under control. Just look at Mexico and India.)

We should be using solar power instead. (Why not use it in addition ?)

It’ll take 30 years to get going. (So let’s loll around and do nothing.)

The world will come to an end any day now, so who cares? (Funny, isn’t that why James Watt wanted to strip-mine all the national parks?)
