Officer Tackles Woman Threatening to Jump
Two Costa Mesa police officers climbed to the roof of a 3-story building and one tackled a woman who was threatening to jump Saturday morning.
Police said the 29-year-old woman was hospitalized for observation.
Officers Jim Wilke and Tim Starn arrived at the building at 132 Virginia Place at about 11:30 a.m. and climbed to just below the roof. The woman threatened to jump, but Wilke got close enough to tackle her, police said.
Firefighters were called to help bring her down from the roof, officers said.
