Campbell Automotive Group of Irvine, the owner of eight dealerships and two body shops, reported 1988 sales of $145.3 million, a 5% jump over the $138.8 million recorded the year before, the company said.

Publicly traded Lex Service PLC of London is Campbell’s partner and half owner. Campbell remains a private partnership in the United States.

Campbell Automotive was founded in 1965. In Orange County, the company owns and operates Campbell Buick/GMC Trucks of Corona; Campbell Ford, Garden Grove; Campbell Mazda, Buena Park; Campbell Mazda, Costa Mesa; Campbell Nissan, Buena Park; Campbell Nissan, Huntington Beach; Campbell Porsche/Audi, Buena Park; and Campbell Volkswagen, Buena Park. Its two paint and body shops are in Anaheim and Fountain Valley.
