Museum security workers turned away busloads of visitors from the Georges Pompidou art center in Paris for the 13th day Tuesday, demanding that the tourist attraction provide more jobs, higher wages and better benefits. About 1,200 employees working in other departments of the center also went on a 24-hour strike in solidarity with the security workers. Helene Ahrweiler, the center’s new director, said their demands are “trifling matters.� She is more concerned about cutting costs overall, and will make changes in management and cancel a planned $1-million Andy Warhol retrospective to save funds.
