Whirlpool Corp.’s president and chief operating officer of seven months, Albert E. Suter, resigned to pursue other business opportunities.
Whirlpool said it named William D. Marohn, president of its Kenmore Appliance Group, an executive vice president and gave him Suter’s responsibilities for North American appliance operations.
David R. Whitwam, the Benton Harbor, Mich., firm’s chief executive, is expected to seek the board’s approval to regain the title of president, which he relinquished to Suter last September.
